Minlin Liao (Libby) began her studies at age of five in Shenzhen, China where is the city she grew up. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wesleyan College under the instruction of Dr. Chenny Q Gan in 2013. This is where she was awarded Dean’s scholarship. She was the first prize winner of the Atlanta Music Club Scholarship as well as a second prize winner in the Georgia Music Teachers Association State Piano Competition. Minlin (Libby) was a transfer student from South China Normal University. During her undergrad study, she has performed solo, four-hands, and two piano eight-hand recitals in the USA, Italy, Germany, and China. Within the two-year study in the USA, she realized her passion and potential for piano performance and piano pedagogy. It sparked her musical career as a piano teacher and made her towards higher education in music.
Above all, Minlin (Libby) loves children. She teaches piano from beginner to advanced levels, from young children to adults. She is passionate about helping students for their piano journey with good technique, the healthy dose of creativity, and individualized learning; in order to foster a healthy environment for all my students to grow at their own pace and abilities. Her credentials and diverse cultural background help students gain confidence and experience joy through music taking.
Minlin (Libby) will be pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance, under the tutelage of Dr. Moledous at Southern Methodist University where she was awarded an Artistic Scholarship.
